Manualy Learning SpamFilter

Beitragvon Motormuis » 17. Mär 2004, 23:44

I've a lot of NON-Spam e-mail (history) and a lot of Spam e-mail saved in the last year.
Is there a way to manualy import e-mail (.eml files) into the training area?

Greetings from Holland.... 8)

you can use the Virtual POP3-Server 1.0 Beta as a workaround for the importing of old messages:
http://www.spamihilator.com/plugins/ind ... &detail=37

When you first import all the NON-Spam Mails (and then second the Spam-Mails) you can select each Mail as good (Spam-Mails of course as bad ;) ). this save many time and work.

greetings :)
Roman

p.s. the website from Boris (author of the Virtual POP3-Server ) is currently under heavy maintenance... so the downloadlink don't work. please try later again to download the tool...

The link doesn't work at the present time. :(

EDIT - It seems that the link itself http://www.kugelmeier.net/downloads/VirtuaöPOP3-Server1_0_Beta.exe should be http://www.kugelmeier.net/downloads/Vir ... 0_Beta.exe

The ö should be a l instead.

Oops. There is another problem. I installed it and upon running it, the following error message came up -

Run-time error '339':

Component 'MSWINSOCK.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I did a search on my computer and MSWINSOCK.OCX is not located anywhere. :(

Okay. I downloaded MSWINSOCK.OCX and put it in the correct directory and the program runs now.

Now I have another problem. I don't know German or whatever the language is in the program. I only speak, read, and write English and a little Spanish.

How do I use the program? :?:

I can read German and did what ik asked me to do:

pop3: localhost
port: 125

username: localhost&admin&125
password: admin

When I try to connect it says "unknown username"

Do I do something wrong?

There should not be a problem. I had just to find out that there are some problems.
I'll remove the problems as fast as possible.

When I try to connect it says "unknown username"

BTW: congratulations to your servertool - it's exactly the one i was looking for!
