Spamihilator Icon Keeps Activating In System Tray.

For some reason Spamihilator is checking for messages at very frequent intervals,
but nothing happens.
Sometimes it seems that the cursor sets the icon off when it travels over it.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Anyone know how to fix it?

Is it a 64-bit system? Win7?
What do you mean when you say "nothing happens"?
Is "the cursor" your mouse pointer?
And what do you mean with "sets the icon off"?

Very many thanks for your response.
It would be a 32 bit system, Windows Vista.
When I say nothing happens what I mean is I go to collect
mail but there is nothing there.
I expect to see mail because the system has been so busy
dialing up - maybe caused by the cursor moving over it.
Yes, by cursor I mean mouse pointer.
When I say sets the icon off, I mean that there is an envelope
icon for Spamihilator in the system tray and it seems that this
can be triggered into action sometimes by the mouse pointer
passing over it.
Sorry that I was not clearer the first time.

Hmm, I think still need further more information.
Please tell me, do you use one or more mail clients, how many mail accounts.
Is the problem a missing internet connection, whilst already collecting mails?
