If Spamihilator adds an API to allow direct programmatic addition of friends, or triggering to reload the settings.ini without restarting, then I will add that functionality to Outgoing Friends too.

Or, if it already has it and I just couldn't find it, please let me know!

Sure, we're running spamihilator on:

- Dell Poweredge 850 with hardware raid 1 card.
- Windows XP Pro
- TrueCrypt (so all email is stored encrypted)
- hMailserver
- Spamihilator
- RunAsSvc utility (to start spamihilator)
- Blacklist filters (inc. multi.surbl.org)
- Outgoing Friends
- Rough program to search spam and re-send from the recyclebin

Thanks, that answers another query. We are using the 'outgoing friends' utility, and some users have said that it isn't working. This may be because spamihilator has not restarted (it runs eternally on our server).

I may try getting the process to restart at night to force a reload.

Probably. :| But be aware of problems once another process, e.g. Spamihilator itself, accesses the file. New entries are only displayed after Spamihilator re-start. Er, now, in fact, it would perhaps still be better to write into the ini-file under controlled circumstances, I guess ... :mrgreen:

Hi Paul,

in the program configuration window, a friend's data is displayed in the format of:
sender name: Chactory
mail address: chactory[i]@[/i]arealprovider.de

And in the spamihilator ini-file, you find it under [SENDERS], in the format:
Chactory=chactory[i]@[/i]arealprovider.de,2
with the 2 marking a friend.

Can i just append peoples email addresses (in the correct format) to spamihilator.ini ?

I want to write a program to do it over the network for people who don't have access to the server.

I've just written one to search through the recyclebin xml file, and then send any trapped messages they select to them (using bmail.exe).
