Hallo Chactory!

Thanks for the flowers, Chactory
To be honest i cheat a little bit, most of the times i only remember threads that i' wrote a lengthly reply for so most of the time i reference one of my own posts.

It is almost a FAQ:
Certain mails are bypassing Spami and getting delivered to my Mailclient without any trace in Spamihilator :!:

I think i would like to start a new thread and clean up my explanation about the reasons for Spam bypassing Spami. Once that is done you can read it and give it a "Chactory approved" and make it sticky if you want.

Regards,
Quellcore

Hello Tapdog!

That's wunderful! It's a very delightful work in our forum, because the users always solve their problems by themselves. Good filtering with Spamihilator! :)
@ Quellcore, you often remember important contributions, and again you cited a critical posting. Perhaps this one ought to be suggested to be registered in Andreas_Z's list of important postings.

Now I have done it the way you suggested and will wait to see the result.

Your problems are solved now, you've fixed your problem by deleting that adress from the Spami's friend list, 99% sure.

Here is post of mine regarding mails that seem to bypass Spami and its Training Area:

Thank you for this.

Yes you are quite correct, the email address being spammed was in my OE address book and the 'from' address was being spoofed. So to fix this problem I have temporarily deleted the address contact. Now I wait to see if the next spam mail is intercepted by spami.

Two problems remains however. The contact address I just deleted will be added again to my contact list the next time I "reply all" to a group email containing this address. Also I or my wife sometimes send or forward emails to the troublesome address from a different email account and in this way once again the problem address will reappear in the contact list

So deleting the address is maybe a good 'work around' but not such a good 'fix' for me. Do you have any other ideas?

Hi tapdog and Dilbert,

perhaps this case results from a common mistake, which happens to many users accidentally, so please check, if that fits to you, too: When your own mail address is entered into the friends list, then you may receive spam mails containing your spoofed own mail address as sender.

If spami fail to filter an email, this email should still be available in learning area. You can train spami from there.

I have not seen the case that the email go to OE without any trace in spami. If this is the case, we need more experienced user to advise.

Undetected spam from online pharmacy spammer with a .cn address is bypassing spami and going to my OE inbox.

Does spami have a way of dragging this stuff back to the training area so that it can be marked as spam and learned from?
